Technical designer / Architectural Technologist

SUMMARY:
Our client in the Construction industry is looking for a Technical Designer / Architectural Technologist to join their team. Salary: R30 000 - R35 000 pm CTC depending on experience. Position is based in Sandton.

POSITION INFO:
As the Technical Designer, you will oversee all aspects of technical design to ensure accuracy of product measurements, quality, construction, and fit.

Duties:

• Get project briefs from Project Managers, Creative Designers, or clients on projects.
• Ensuring detailed notes are taken during all above interactions.
• Responsible for Site Audits.
• Working with Creative Designers and Project Managers regarding technical aspects of projects and suppliers/contractors regarding solutions for certain technical issues.
• Creating detailed space planning layouts.
• Generating detailed Joinery drawings.
• Producing detailed construction drawings accurately and timeously.
• Attending project meetings with the Development Team, Architects and Project Managers.
• Attending site meetings that require input on the progress of technical design elements.

• Degree / Diploma in relevant field
• Minimum 3 years’ experience as a technical designer or in related field.
• Proficiency with required software
