Technician Laboratory - Contractor

Duties and Responsibilities:

• To ensure compliance to equipment calibration specifications and update procedures.
• Conduct tests on substrate, ink, chemicals, effluent, and final product.
• Run monthly reports and document all non-conformances.
• Identify deviations from standards and specifications and recommend rectifications.
• Conduct investigations on counterfeit notes.
• Ensure dual control and balancing of notes and that all notes are accounted for.
• Maintain laboratory equipment and compile annual calibration control matrix.
• Train staff in the use of laboratory equipment and procedures.
• Adhere to SHEQ standards and regulations.
• Engage in problem solving exercises to improve business operations as required.
• Work in cross-functional teams on continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support the R&D function with testing, data capturing, and analysis.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Grade 12 and National Diploma in Analytical Chemistry/Chemistry.
• 2-5 years’ experience in a laboratory environment within the printing industry.
• Exposure to ISO 9001 standard.
• Knowledge of ISO 17025.
