SUMMARY:
Our client is looking for a Telecommunications Network Engineer for the Head office based in Pretoria

POSITION INFO:
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Diploma/BSc/B. Tech/B. Eng in Electrical or IT/Computer Systems Engineering
Certification in IP / Networking/ Fibre Optics/ Computer Configuration or other
relevant area, e.g., Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), FOA etc.
At least 5 years + experience in the telecommunications network operations and
implementation.
In depth knowledge and understanding of either DWDM networks, IP/MPLS, Wifi
Access Point configuration, LAN/WAN, CAT5/CAT6 and optic fiber related
experience.

ADVATAGEOUS

- Master’s degree, in Electrical or IT/Computer Systems Engineering
- Certifications like Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), Cisco Certified
Internetwork Expert (CCIE), Cisco Certified Design Expert (CCDE)
- Experience with deployment of Cisco NCS2000 Product Family and ancillaries
- Experience with deployment of Network Management Systems

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Support and report to the comopanies ICT Project Manager and Executive Project Sponsor as the specialist for the Project.
Act as a technical specialist in monitoring outsourced work of WAN, LAN and other communication related service providers and ensuring compliance with designs, internal policies, and industry best practices
May be required to carry out technical work (i.e. configurations) as required
Overall co-ordination of project activities.
Engage project stakeholders to understand exact requirements and support service
provider in their design compilation
Manage issue escalation process
Manage project risk register
Support overall project quality by carrying out inspections and checks
Understand the Digital Transformation Goals of the organization
Assist the Project Manager with managing the Project Plan, Budget, and Project
Team
Define Success Criteria for the project
Define project Scope and Priorities
Plan, Track, & Report on Project Progress
Communicate Value of the Project to the Project Team & to all Stakeholders
Report on progress Manage communications with sponsors, business stakeholders
and end user community
