SUMMARY:
One of the largest shipping companies with head office based in Johannesburg is recruiting for a 3-month contract as a Senior Financial Accountant. Exposure to intercompany accounts, foreign transactions, consolidations and tax is non-negotiable.

POSITION INFO:
Education:

Completed matric
Completed Degree as a minimum
Honours degree as a bonus

Requirements:

3 to 4 years’ experience within a similar role
Strong knowledge of MS Excel

Job Responsibilities:

Full debtors and creditors function.
Drafting financial statements.
Month ends reconcile invoices to statements and general ledger and file final creditors listing for month end file with supporting documents.
Update bank statements weekly.
Reconcile payments raised and receipts with bank statement.
Forward banking queries to client with reasonable time to response.
Intercompany accounts.
Group reporting and consolidations.
Transfer pricing.
Tax, report on tax and tax declarations.
Ensure balance sheet accounts are reconciled daily and errors are raised with management.
Monthly depreciation journals.
Monthly expense provisions if applicable.
Ensure that all month-end activities are completed as per month-end control sheet.
Ensure SARS Statement of Accounts are pulled for both VAT and PAYE and reconcile to
Balance Sheet.
Ensure Fixed Asset Registers are maintained and reconcile to Balance Sheet.
Assist manager in preparing audit packs and audit files.
