Durban based global manufacturing and logistics company seeks a Temporary and then a Permanent Divisional Head of HR & ER.

POSITION INFO:

Durban based global manufacturing and logistics company seeks a Temporary and then a Permanent Divisional Head of HR & ER.  Responsible for providing strategic advice, guidance, and leadership across the company on all areas of Human Resources such as staffing and recruiting organizational development, performance management, training, compensation & benefits and employee relation, engagement. 

This position will be expected to design and implement a strategy and provide professional expertise and direct assistance to the leadership team whilst providing strong leadership and management to the HR team.  Ultimately, ensure the HR department operates efficiently and aligns with our business objectives. 

Requirements

  • Postgraduate Qualifications (Masters, Hons, Bachelors HR Degree)
  • 10 years’ experience
  • Previous HR experience senior management level, current or most recent roles must be at strategic management level.
  • Experience of leading, motivating and managing a team of staff to provide an effective strategic and operational HR function.
  • Up to date knowledge of employment law and good employment practice
  • Experience of advising managers on change programmes (including redundancy).
  • In-depth understanding of and ability to continually develop skills in best practice in all aspects of HR
  • Experience of managing and monitoring a budget; experience of managing a professional HR team
  • In depth experience of managing organizational restructures
  • Experience of developing a Culture of Learning & Change, able to demonstrate a personal and corporate commitment to continuous learning, growth and change.
  • Ability to encourage and support creative thinking; experience of delivering results through people; able to display a strong result focus and consistently delivers positive outcomes.
  • Experience of working in partnership and collaboration; able to work effectively with a broad range of stakeholders and partners.
  • Experience in managing Diversity; experience of taking a pivotal role in developing frameworks and initiatives
  • Ability to communicate in a fluent and adaptive manner; experience of successfully influencing opinion and generating support.
  • Ability to be creative and analytical in order to develop flexible creative
  • Solutions to complex HR issues.
