Temporary Financial Controller (6-months contract)

SUMMARY:
A temporary opportunity has become available for a Financial Controller with our client in the FMCG sector, on a fixed-term 6-months contract basis.

POSITION INFO:
Main Duties:

Leadership:
- Successfully lead and motivate a team of clerks
- Strive towards creating a work environment where creditors clerks can achieve goals and meet objectives

Processing:
- Ensure that all processing deadlines are met
- Ensure that all invoices/Credit notes are correctly captured on
Pastel/Syspro
- Assist with processing if and should the need arise

Reviewing of Reconciliations:
- Ensure that reconciliations are reviewed before submission to
Managers/Directors

Account Queries:
- Ensure that all queries on the accounts are kept to a minimum by assisting the creditors clerks where required
- Assist creditors clerks with reconciliations when required

Cashflow and banking:
- Cashflow management for various entities
- Assist with SARB applications

Management accounts:
- Compile management accounts on a monthly basis
- Assist with intercompany bill backs

Reporting:
- Compile weekly management dashboard
- Compile weekly/monthly reporting requested by management
- Compile reports on forward contracts which have entered into

New Employees:
- Assist in the training of new employees added to team when required

Ad-Hoc:
- General ad-hoc duties as requested by management from time to time
- All and any other related tasks and duties as required by the Employer from time to time

Requirements:

- Matric / Tertiary qualification in accounting or finance 
- SAIPA or similar an advantage
- 3 – 5 years’ experience in a similar role supervising a team of clerks
- Min. Intermediate Excel Skills
- Experience on systems such as Pastel / Syspro
- Experience reviewing and reconciling General Ledger accounts
