POSITION INFO:

A leader in the construction industry is looking for a highly experienced Tender buyer to join their team.  This concern has a multinational footprint and with over a century of experience they offer stability and expertise to add to your career development.  They build empowered work teams based on respect, dignity, diversity also by valuing their employees.  This role will require extensive travelling into Africa at short notice.  The role will include duties such as:

• Receiving of raw materials and shipping of finished goods
• Monitor and maintain complex databases/systems and analyse and interpret a wide range of supplier and organisational information and options to support tender procurement decision making.
• Set policy and guidelines for delivering commercial and cost-effective procurement processes and savings for and to the business
• Develop and provide reports to support effective management of supplier performance and to track and report on benefits delivered.
• Apply risk management and compliance checks when researching and analysing supply markets and contract performance to identify potential risks and trigger risk mitigation and management responses.
• Provide advice to the project estimator on the predicted cost of individual items.
• Liaise closely with the estimator at the tendering stage to ensure that an accurate project cost is provided
• Negotiate and agree the most favourable terms possible with suppliers
• Support new project buying and work closely with other internal departments to manage and execute changing requirements, revision levels, etc.
• Provide prices for all materials included in project plans and drawings.
• Actively manage supplier performance

Job Experience & Skills Required:

Qualifications & Experience

• National Diploma or Degree in Supply Chain Management or related field
• 10 or more year’ experience in construction
• Ability to work with Prism, CCS, Smart Plant, or JDE
