POSITION INFO:
A leader in the construction industry is looking for a highly experienced Tender buyer to join their team. The role will include duties such as:
- Receiving of raw materials and shipping of finished goods
- Monitor and maintain complex databases/systems and analyse and interpret a wide range of supplier and organisational information and options to support tender procurement decision making.
- Set policy and guidelines for delivering commercial and cost-effective procurement processes and savings for and to the business
- Develop and provide reports to support effective management of supplier performance and to track and report on benefits delivered.
- Apply risk management and compliance checks when researching and analysing supply markets and contract performance to identify potential risks and trigger risk mitigation and management responses.
- Provide advice to the project estimator on the predicted cost of individual items.
- Liaise closely with the estimator at the tendering stage to ensure that an accurate project cost is provided
- Negotiate and agree the most favourable terms possible with suppliers
- Support new project buying and work closely with other internal departments to manage and execute changing requirements, revision levels, etc.
- Provide prices for all materials included in project plans and drawings.
- Actively manage supplier performance

Job Experience & Skills Required:
Qualifications & Experience
- National Diploma or Degree in Supply Chain Management or related field
- 10 or more year’ experience in construction
- Ability to work with Prism, CCS, Smart Plant, or JDE
