SUMMARY:
Job Opportunity: Test and Measurement Technician
Location: Hatfield, Pretoria
Travel: Ad hoc travel to project sites across South Africa
Salary: R250,000 – R400,000 per annum (based on experience)

Are you a hands-on technician with a passion for precision engineering and real-world testing? Do you have a solid grounding in mechanical and electrical systems and enjoy building, testing, and refining solutions?
We’re looking for a Test and Measurement Technician to join our dynamic research and development environment.

POSITION INFO:

Minimum Requirements:

Qualified Fitter & Turner or Mechatronics Technician
Ideally aged 25–30, with experience in automation, maintenance, or manufacturing
Strong theoretical knowledge in both mechanical and electrical engineering
Skilled in:
- Wiring, mechanical fitting, machining, and welding
- Ensuring precision and neat workmanship in all tasks
Proficient in SolidWorks or similar mechanical design software
Self-confident, client-facing personality with good interpersonal skills
Willingness to work long hours when project demands require.

Key Responsibilities:

Design and build servo-hydraulic test rigs for structural experiments
Execute and monitor structural fatigue testing
Conduct vibration measurements and condition monitoring
Install and wire strain gauges and a variety of sensors
Maintain servo-hydraulic systems and infrastructure
Design and fabricate mechanical jigs and fixtures for testing applications
