Test Analyst ( Business Intelligence/Data Analytics)

SUMMARY:
Job Spec Our Client in Cape Town requires a Test Analyst ( Business Intelligence/Data Analytics) for a contract role.

POSITION INFO:

The successful candidate will perform testing activities for implementation of successful business solutions, defect fixes, functional testing, system enhancements, new applications testing (this will be for changes to systems or business products) and fixes for incidents. The test analyst verifies and validates that the intended solution meets stated requirements and specifications that guided its design and development, and that they work as expected.

Qualifications

Essential:

• Formal Education Grade 12
• Formal software testing training (e.g. ISEB/ISTQB)

Desirable:

• Diploma or Degree qualified (IT or related technical)
• AWS, BI Certification

Experience

Essential:

• 4-6 years Manual testing experience
• 3+ years SQL experience
• 2-4 years Testing in a retail / financial sector
• 1-2 years Testing in an Agile environment
• 3+ years BI, Data Analytics experience

Desirable:

• Automated testing tool experience (1-2 years)

Responsibilities

• Test Planning
• Test scenario and/or test case preparation, construction and review
• Test prerequisites compilation
• Test execution, recording and defect logging
• Maintain testing that conforms to the TCoE quality standards framework with a high level of accuracy
• Test status updates and reporting
• Test closure activities

Knowledge and Skills

Essential:

• 4-6 years Knowledge of functional testing, system testing, integration testing, regression testing
• 4-6 years Knowledge of systems testing, user acceptance testing
• 1+ years AWS: EMR, EC2, S3, Redshift
• 1+ years Python Programming

-BI Knowledge

• Decent understanding of the AWS environment is required
• Big Data, understand data lakes, marts and how data is loaded from source systems through to Cloud BI
• Understanding of sql queries
• Solid understanding of database designs and concepts
• Extract Transform and Load (ETL) processes

Desirable:

• Bitbucket
• Talend
• PySpark or Spark
• Experience of testing using test management tools such as QC
