Test Analyst - Contract

Our client a Leading Tech firm is seeking a Test Analyst to join their team in Cape town on a contract basis. They offer stability, growth, attractive salary, exposure and an excellent working environment.

As an Intermediate Test Analyst, you'll be responsible for the testing of new features and updates to existing products. Your work will involve testing a wide range of different software components.

Requirements

• Must be familiar with the software development lifecycle
• The Test Analyst is expected to understand the various types of testing that are employed in a software engineering project such as negative, functional, black box, boundary testing, etc.
• Automaton testing with a solid understanding of Manual testing (including working knowledge of how to write test scripts
• Must have the ability to perform manual End to End testing using test cases and/or functional specifications
• Must be able to perform Exploratory testing as and when required
• Communicate test results to Test Manager
• Log defects in the defect tracking system
• The Test Analyst must be able to work with Team Foundation Server within the Visual Studio environment and know how to manage assigned work and backlog items in terms of acknowledgment, resolution, and closing, and a working knowledge of Jira
• The Test Analyst must be a team player and take direction and instructions from management and technical leads
• The Test Analyst will be expected to perform testing of new development as well as maintenance testing and provide support for existing systems. This will require interaction with the relevant operations teams.
• The Test Analyst will be expected to further their knowledge and skills either by means of CBT, self-education, or by being willing to go on courses that are deemed important for that Test Analyst’s growth.
• The Test Analyst will be required to complete the client’s timesheets as well as organizations timesheets on a weekly basis.
• The Test Analyst will be required to perform tasks outside of the above list from time to time. These tasks will be agreed upon between the Test Analyst and his/her manager.

Qualifications

• ISTQB Certification
• Minimum 5 years of solid testing experience
• Within Mobile or Portal development environments
• Automation with solid experience in manual testing as a foundation
• Financial Services / Insurance industry
