They are looking for an experienced Test Engineer to join their Research & Development team in Paarl. About the Role As a Test Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining sophisticated test equipment used to validate cutting-edge electronic products. You''ll work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams to improve testing processes, reduce manufacturing costs, and ensure products meet the highest quality standards. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and implement manual and automated product test equipment and testing infrastructure. Develop innovative test solutions to improve efficiency, reliability, and product quality. Analyse test data to identify opportunities to optimise test processes, reduce production time, and lower operational costs. Maintain and enhance existing test equipment and provide technical support to manufacturing partners. Investigate and evaluate new technologies, components, and testing methodologies through proof-of-concept development. Collaborate with hardware, firmware, software, and product development teams throughout the product lifecycle. Train technical staff on new test equipment, systems, and processes. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across engineering and manufacturing. Requirements BEng or MEng in Electronic Engineering or an equivalent qualification. 3-8 years'' experience in product testing, electronic engineering, or a similar technical environment. Strong programming skills in C, C++, or C#. Proficiency in Python scripting. Experience with PCB schematic design and electronic hardware debugging. Embedded systems programming and debugging experience. Familiarity with hardware communication interfaces such as RS-485, SPI, I²C, and USB. Experience developing with Raspberry Pi or similar embedded platforms. A solid understanding of electronic test systems and automation.
