SUMMARY:
Client in Pinetown, Durban, within the sheet metal manufacturing and fabrication industry, is looking for a Tooling Data Programmer to create detailed tooling and nesting data using Metacam and Fabri-Trak software. Duties include programming for cutting, punching, and laser processes, optimizing material usage, preparing job cards, and ensuring programmes comply with customer specifications and safety standards.

POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibility

Program tools for cutting, punching, and shaping of metal sheets using Metacam software
Prepare job cards and associated documents using Fabri-Trak
Prepare programmes for laser cutting
Ensure programmes are completed based on tooling availability of different materials and sheet sizes, and machinery
Ensure programmes are completed based on maximum material usage and minimum cutting times
Record, report and document information associated with project/ customer specifications
Comply with all regulatory safety policies and standards as well as ensure that Protective Gear is worn at all times
Adherence to late coming and Absenteeism policies
Records, reports and documents applicable paperwork

Skills/Requirements

The ability to understand and interpret job card
The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
Proficient in MS word, excel, outlook
Proficient in Metacam software
Proficient inn Fabri-Trak software
Basic working knowledge of AutoCAD and SolidWorks software

Education & Qualification

Matric
Engineering Studies/N3 qualification (Sheetmetal engineering preferred)
Programming qualification advantageous
