JOB SUMMARY:
The tool Manager will Plan, implement and drive the Injection Moulding Department.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Duties and Responsibilities:

Maintain the yearly maintenance schedule for facility
Roll-out of mould monitoring (CVe system)
Represent organisation regarding Industrial processes & tooling at Prime partners. Taking part

in the setting or improving process parameter from mould maker to launch facility.

Monitoring the tool life usage status at prime. Problem solving analytically to solve root cause.
Where need be proposing reasonable solutions and support in ensuring necessary improvements are implemented.
Be able to produce master/reference samples.
Manage the engineering change process at the toolmaker including quotations to final approval with prime partner hand over.
Performance evaluation to suppliers according to IMS requirement.
During project phase verify that auxiliaries are to the organisation’s standard.
Be a role player in ensuring a successful active contingency plan.
Maintaining mould status overview including frequent review of tact times
Reviewing maintenance schedules at trade partners including tooling.
Drive continuous Improvement targets in line with key performance indicators.
Ensure quality part / processing stability to achieve customer approval
To travel abroad as responsibility may require.
Meet all requirements as assigned by the superior.
Support Prime Partners local and globally in maintaining & implementing industrial processes / equipment.
Establish, update, and maintain an overall maintenance system
Role player in establishing annual continuous improvement plans to achieve overall plant key
performance indicators
Manages the product & process planning according to internal & customer timelines.
Overall capacity monitoring of moulds internally and at prime partners.
Support Customer in regards Industrial sampling, audits, approval process, complaints etc.
Installing and maintaining of agreed parameters established during launch.
Actively be part of the project hand over process to Prime partners during project launch phase.
Support actively the Industrialization process to maintain IATF Certification
Support Prime Partners in fulfilling the WPT ZA Quality Management function with specific
focus to establish processes & parameters.
Support Quality & process technicians at Prime Partners
Co-operate and support the interphases with launch team (Head office and local prime

process related aspects)

Compiling and reviewing of overall parameters, reference samples and related documents
Timely reporting and escalation as per key performance Indicators
Ensure successful launch of Industrialization at prime partners and ensure maintenance of tooling to customers and extended standards
Support the Project team with input to design and manufacture of Injection moulds and assembly, automation, jigs and fixtures.
Support in managing all aspects of local tooling, from start of projects (order) to end of life.
Support projects launch related activities local and or at toolmaker facilities abroad.
Perform 5 S Audits periodically at trade partner on facility, moulds, jigs & equipment. Audits needs to be followed through with recommended actions, tracked and closing out.
Ability to work and interface with other global teams during project/launch and series phases.
Support Launch Management Activities as per IMS process
Implement processes using the Integrated Management System (IMS) and procedures.
Use IMS processes, procedures to meet internal and customer requirements.
Ensure quality standards are based on the Integrated Management System
Participate in any committees as needed or directed
Actively participate and support WPT ZA in improving the operational activities, principles
Kaizen (Cost reduction, CIP and effective problem solving to ensure the operating targets are implemented and achieved)

Qualifications & Requirements:

National Diploma in Industrial Engineering or equivalent
Extensive knowledge of plastic injection tooling & processes
Completed higher certificate grade 12 or equivalent.
Plastic trade related expertise.
Minimum of 4 – 6 years setting experience with plastics injection moulding machines
(250 ton – 1600 tons) & injection process
Minimum of 4 years’ experience in the Automotive Industry as a 1st tier supplier to OEM
Ability to establish “parameter freeze” parameters and parts using an injection
moulding machine (e.g., Krause Maffei and Enel Machines)
Ability to do fault finding and make improvements in moulding process.
Knowledge on mould wiring, mould heaters and the use of a different plastics materials
Good computer skills and experience especially Microsoft Excel
