Toolmaker – Automotive Stamping Plant

SUMMARY:
We are seeking experienced Toolmakers to join an automotive stamping/press manufacturing environment in Durban. The successful candidates will be responsible for the manufacture, maintenance, repair and modification of production tooling, including jigs and fixtures.

POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities Manufacture, maintain and repair press and stamping tooling. Build, maintain and modify jigs, fixtures, dies and production tools . Troubleshoot and repair tooling to minimise production downtime. Interpret technical drawings and tooling specifications. Conduct precision fitting, machining and assembly work. Ensure tooling meets required quality and dimensional standards. Support production with tooling-related technical issues. Minimum Requirements Qualified \/ Trade Tested Toolmaker . 5 - 10 years Toolmaking experience . Experience in a press and stamping plant is essential. Automotive manufacturing experience essential. Proven experience with jigs and fixtures . Strong knowledge of press tooling, dies and associated equipment. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings. Must reside in the Durban area . Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
