Plastic Manufacturing company located 35km from Durban is seeking a driven and skilled Toolmaker (Plastics / Injection Moulding).
Position Overview:
Toolmaker with a minimum of
5 years’ experience in the plastics industry, particularly in
injection moulding. The ideal candidate will have strong technical ability, experience working with CNC machines and workshop tools, and the willingness to learn and grow in a high-performance environment.

POSITION INFO:
Requirements:
Trade Tested Toolmaker
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in toolmaking, preferably within the plastics/injection moulding sector.
Proficient in the operation of CNC machines and other general workshop machinery.
Working knowledge of CAD/CAM software (e.g., Unigraphics CAD CAM, Solid Edges, etc.)
Understanding of different tool steels and their application in moulds.
Skilled in tool polishing and finishing techniques.
Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and take initiative.
Preferred Candidate Profile:
Aged between 25 to 35 years old (or equivalent level of career experience).
Eager to learn and grow within a high-standard manufacturing environment.
Positive attitude and willingness to be trained and upskilled.

Key Responsibilities:
Manufacture, maintain, and repair plastic injection mould tools to high precision standards.
Operate a range of workshop machines including CNC, milling, turning, grinding, and drilling machines.
Interpret and work from technical drawings and CAD/CAM data.
Conduct polishing and finishing of tool surfaces.
Understand and apply knowledge of various steels used in mould construction.
Collaborate with the team and also work independently with minimal supervision.
Support continuous improvement in tooling performance and mould reliability
