POSITION INFO:

Our client, an international leader in the Engineering industry is seeking to URGENTLY appoint two suitably qualified Trade-tested Millwright Maintenance Millwrights to be based at their Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa Operation.

MAIN PURPOSE FOR THE ROLE:

• To report directly into Site Maintenance Engineering Manager.
• To perform inspections, maintenance, installations, restoration, and repairs of production equipment within a train manufacturing environment.

KEY COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS:

• At minimum a N3 Millwright (Electro-Mechanical) qualification.
• An N6 will be a distinct advantage.
• Be a Trade Tested Millwright.
• At least 3 years’ experience working on AC and DC drives.
• Have 3 years’ experience in automated environments.
• Have knowledge of Fault-finding techniques.
• Have analytical skills.
• Have working knowledge of Fault finding of single and three phase circuits, relay logic, PLC’s, DC, and AC Drives
• Be adept at reading P&ID, electrical, and mechanical diagrams.
• Possess in-depth knowledge of and experience in process monitoring instruments.

KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Adheres to health and safety standards and ensure good housekeeping in and around the plant and workshop.
• Carries out electrical and mechanical system inspections and reports on performance issues.
• Documents repair and inspection activities to ensure accurate record keeping.
• Ensures all maintenance activities are performed to set quality standards without rework or abnormal overtime.
• Performs electrical and mechanical isolations and applies for permit to work.
• Supervises electrical apprentices and performs planned job observations.
• Takes part in root cause analysis and suggest ways of improving equipment and processes.
• Has a thorough Understanding of and puts into practice all codes, standards, and procedures for safe work.
• Works to ensure achievement of schedule compliance targets.
