The Role: Trained Unit Manager, Emergency Department
This leadership role places you at the heart of the hospital''s Emergency Department, where your clinical expertise and managerial acumen will guide operations, elevate care standards, and develop future nursing leaders. You will ensure the department runs smoothly, resources are optimally managed, and patients receive the highest level of care.
Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage the Emergency Department team, ensuring optimal staffing and resource allocation

Maintain operational readiness in treatment, triage, and resuscitation areas

Oversee departmental budgets, audits, and quality improvement initiatives

Mentor and develop nursing staff, fostering professional growth and excellence

Build strong relationships with doctors, patients, and multidisciplinary teams

Uphold and enforce infection prevention and control protocols

Drive problem-solving initiatives and implement effective operational solutions
About You

Registered Nurse with the South African Nursing Council

Post-basic qualification in Emergency Nursing

Minimum of 3 years in a nursing management position (private hospital experience advantageous)
