JOB SUMMARY:
A well-known and established Food and Flavours Company requires the above to provide support to the Laboratory Manager as well as the Sales Team ensuring that Customers are provided with the right products and latest technology.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Minimum requirements for the role:
  • A Diploma or Degree in Food Sciences or related is preferred for this role.
  • The Company will consider employing a Graduate with no experience for this role as long as the person has excellent analytical, written and communication skills as they would be liaising with Customers.
  • The successful candidate must be computer literate.
  • Previous experience working on Pastel or a related ERP system is preferred but not essential as training is provided.
  • Must be an independent worker who takes initiative.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
  • Assisting the Sales Team with the processing of orders, invoicing of orders and management of the stock.
  • Assisting in the laboratory with all laboratory work.
  • Liaising with the Warehouse and Distribution to make sure they have enough stock for Clients.
  • Responding to Customer queries regarding the various products they have ordered.
  • Assisting with applying for Halaal certification and then corresponding with SANHA.
  • Assisting with and requesting Kosher certification from Silesia.
  • Following up on delivery of weekly flavour sample consignment from overseas suppliers.
  • Unpacking and distributing samples to salespeople accordingly.
  • Compiling a flavour library and ensuring it holds enough sample stock for Clients.
  • Assisting with sensory evaluation for submission of samples as well as with flavour sample selection for a particular brief.
  • Checking the backorders at the end of the month to ensure all stock committed for sale is rotated, with correct indent numbers and cannister sizes, purchase orders etc.
  • Managing the whole chain of shelf-life extensions by drawing samples and sending to Germany and USA and following up on results with overseas suppliers.
  • Checking if the correct batch numbers on products have been extended.
  • Liaising, compiling and sending certificates to Customers.
Salary package, including benefits, is highly negotiable depending on experience gained.
