Training Superintendent - Mining

SUMMARY:
PURPOSE OF THE ROLE Oversee the overall functioning of the mine training division and the effective execution of the HRD plan.

POSITION INFO:

Qualifications and REQUIREMENTS

• Trade or Blasting Certificate
• Diploma/NQF level 6 in HRD
• Knowledge and understanding of ETD practices and principles; the Skills Development Act, MQA, Mining Charter, BBBEEE, as well as career paths in mining.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Oversee the compilation of WSP and ATR
• Evaluate and audit training system/initiatives in accordance with HRD quality management policy, ISO 9001 and SETA standards
• Manage Training Quality Assurance systems and processes and ensure compliance with all statutory requirements (DMR, SETA, MQA and NAMB).
• Interact independently with business partners, external advisors and the unit/departmental teams
• Ensure external trainer competency
• Oversee training compliance of all employees
• Oversee monthly cost allocated for HRD initiatives
• Determine needs for the design of new Technical Training programs or the customisation and tailoring of generic Technical Training programmes.
• Determine appropriate organisational needs analysis methodology/systems to identify the skills needs of the organisation (skills audits, skills surveys, etc.).
• Analyse the results of the organisational needs analysis and make suitable recommendations.
• Review existing programmes and courses to determine deficiencies and gaps.
• Conduct internal audits within the Training Quality Management System and ensure SETA accreditation and ISO certification is maintained.
• Participate in external evaluation and auditing of training system/initiatives in accordance with ISO9001 standards, SETA standards and legislation requirements.
