POSITION INFO:

Purpose:

The Transport Manager is responsible for managing, planning and coordinating Transport operations, which includes loading, delivery and driver management.

Key Functional Responsibilities:

People Management.
Develop and manage Staff schedules.
Compliant with all HR procedures.
Staff are held to account.
Hold monthly staff meetings.
Resolve staff issues promptly.
Quality Standards.
Maintain Transport Quality Standards in accordance with DQSP requirements.
Ensure all vehicles are maintained in accordance to DQSP standards.
Compiling and submitting of reports.
Ensure accurate and timely recording of km’s traveled, Driver hours and VA hours.
Ensure daily and weekly fuel recons are completed and fuel-related queries are resolved.
Ensure daily, weekly and monthly transport plans are compiled and communicated.
Ensure all incidents and accidents are investigated and reported according to procedure.
Prepare, sign off and submit the Transport Department payroll inline with the company’s payroll procedure..
Compile the required KPI’s accurately.
Monitor and report on driver performance.
Cost control.
Transport expenditure is managed within budget.
Cost overruns are investigated and appropriate countermeasures are implemented to prevent further overruns.
Expenditure is recorded in correct period.
Accurate accounting of expenditure.
Ensure quality and health and safety standards are met.
Ensure timely corrective action is taken to address service level, cost, quality and health and safety issues.
Ensure health and safety compliance in line with DQSP guidelines.
Quality Audits.
Pass all Quality Audits.

Experience:

5 Years proven management experience.

Multi-Temperature Management

Educational Requirements:

Grade 12 &
Qualification in Transport &
Computer Literacy (MS Word, Excel).
