JOB SUMMARY:
My client is seeking a Transport Manager to join their team:

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Ensure sufficient empty containers are available and in-stack in order to supply the warehouse on-time
Control and track containers into and out of depot
Follow container rotation
Monitor container dwell days in depot
Weigh all containers
Maintain necessary lay-outs
Record and report on KPIs
Liaise with clients
Ensure SLA's are in place
Investigate incidents and implement measures to avoid future problems
Management of transport/yard and staff
Conduct performance appraisals
Prepare finance reports
Monitor fuel usage and machine utilization
Ensure all containers are captured correctly
Ensure all delivery documents and receiving document is signed
Monitor overtime
Check weather and wind speeds
Plan weekly workload according to weather
Monitor traffic flows and congestion of vehicles
Look for cost-saving initiatives
Manage staff

Matric
Relevant Tertiary qualification
Minimum 7 years of managerial experience
Experience within a containerized transport depot with good knowledge of container handling and container handling equipment
Customer-focused
