Job Purpose

The Treasury Manager SSA, based in Stellenbosch, oversees treasury operations for Sub-Saharan Africa (primarily South Africa, with potential expansion). Responsibilities include managing payments, cash flow, investments, trade finance, FX hedging for intercompany loans, and banking relationships. The role collaborates with Geneva/Portugal Treasury teams, regional CFO, finance, legal, compliance, and traders to optimize working capital.

Responsibilities

Treasury Processes: Implement Group Treasury processes in South African entities and new SSA regions, ensuring compliance with approval and authority protocols.
Banking Relationships: Manage SSA banking relationships, maintain accounts, negotiate lines with Global Financing, Legal, and Tax teams, and set up off-balance sheet structures.
Cash Management: Oversee payments, approve transactions, manage forecasts, intercompany loans, and local debt.
Reporting: Provide daily debt/cash reports, ensure accurate accounting, and submit monthly/ad-hoc reports to head-office treasury.
Other: Collaborate with traders to reduce working capital, handle central bank requirements, liaise with FX traders, support audits, and enhance treasury systems with Global Treasury and IT.

Key Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
5+ years in treasury management or finance.
Strong IT skills (Excel, Access, SharePoint) and treasury systems knowledge.
Proficient in financial modelling and instruments.
Fluent in English; comfortable in a semi-manual environment.
