Treaty Accountant

JOB & COMPANY DESCRIPTION

The Treaty Accountant will be responsible for performing and supporting the team with technical accounting and treaty administration tasks and deal with claims handling and payments. The Treaty Accountant will be responsible for reviewing credit control on a portfolio of clients and collating specific reports for further analysis and quality assurance by management. The successful candidate will also be responsible for IFRS 17 project/implementation support.

EDUCATION

The successful candidate must have the following qualifications:

• BCom Accounting

JOB EXPERIENCE & SKILLS REQUIRED

• At least 5 years’ experience in an insurance/reinsurance environment is non-negotiable
• Working knowledge of life insurance/reinsurance is non-negotiable
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Working knowledge of IFRS17 is preferred
• Advanced Excel skills is preferred
• Ability to work under pressure
