Unit Manager - Medical ward

SUMMARY:
Clinical management opportunity within a Medical ward of a hospital situated in Kwazulu Natal, inland area.

POSITION INFO:

A private hospital in Durban (inland) requires the professional services of a Unit Manager for the Medical unit.  The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall management of the Medical unit, including mentoring, training and professional development of the staff within these units.

To be considered for this position, the following work experience is required:

• 5 yrs+ nursing experience within a multi-disciplinary hospital
• min of 3 years current nursing experience within medical unit
• Previous management or supervisory experience (essential)
• Private hospital experience required

Education & skills requirements:

Diploma/Degree in Nursing Science with Midwifery

SANC registered

Post basic qualification in Nursing Administration required

Good communication and leadership skills

Ability to work as part of the team and assist where necessary

Willing to work flexi hours if required

Computer proficient in Microsoft Office suite
