A leading property management company based in Midrand is seeking a Utilities Coordinator / Assistant to the Utilities Manager to support utilities operations across a portfolio of industrial and commercial properties.

This role is ideal for candidates with experience in utilities management, meter readings, tenant liaison, and property operations, with exposure to MDA Property Manager or similar systems.
About the Role
You will support the Utilities Manager across multiple sites, ensuring accurate utility monitoring, tenant communication, and operational coordination.
This is a hands-on role requiring travel between properties and strong experience in electricity and water systems within an industrial or commercial property environment.

POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities
Utilities & Meter Management (Property Utilities Jobs South Africa)

• Conduct electricity and water meter readings across multiple properties
• Capture and maintain accurate consumption data on MDA or similar systems
• Monitor usage trends and identify irregularities
• Support generator and backup system monitoring
• Assist with reporting and data analysis

• Act as first point of contact for tenant utility-related queries
• Assist in resolving electricity and water issues
• Communicate planned outages and maintenance schedules
• Draft professional tenant correspondence

• Assist with maintenance planning and scheduling
• Track breakdowns and follow up on repairs
• Support emergency incidents such as power failures and water leaks

• Track compliance certificates, inspections, and service records
• Assist during audits and site inspections
• Ensure accurate recordkeeping and task tracking
• Support reporting and operational documentation

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in property, facilities, utilities, or building operations
• Proven experience with electricity and water meter readings
• Experience within industrial and commercial property environments (essential)
• Exposure to MDA Property Manager or similar systems
• Basic understanding of electricity and water systems
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
• Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel between sites
