SUMMARY:
Are you and VAT and Tax expert? This is an exciting opportunity for someone who has excellent technical abilities, enjoys strategic problem-solving and is steered by success!

POSITION INFO:

Provide legal and technical support externally and manage client relationships

Keeping abreast of legislative amendments, recent case law and policy decisions reflecting SARS views

Drafting of guides and other user-friendly documents that educate internal and external clients regarding the application and interpretation of the law after considering, amongst other things, the relevant facts and circumstances, existing interpretative tax policy and international practice

Researching specific problematic and complex interpretative tax policy matters and proposing on how they should be resolved

Checking that findings are presented in such a way that they can be easily actioned by clients

Drafting and issuing of technical documents, opinions, ruling applications and detailed reports

Sharing of opportunities identified on current assignments in technical sessions

Internal technical training

Provide legal and technical support internally, specifically to data analytics team

Review of reports prepared by VAT data analytics team

Skills & Experience:

Minimum of 5-7 years VAT experience

Ability to interpret and apply legislation

Critical thinking – strong analytical skills

Effective judgement and independent decision-making skills

Able to evaluate complex problems, develop alternatives and consider the impact thereof

Presentation skills

Qualification:

CA(SA) / LLB or similar

Relevant Tax Courses / Certificate / Diploma / Degree
