VICE PRESIDENT INTERNAL AUDIT

The appointee should:

• Be in possession of an NQF 7 (Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced Diploma)
• Be a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Registered Chartered Accountant (CA SA) or Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) or Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA).
• Have at least 10 years’ experience in a related role, of which 5 years should have been at a senior management level or experience in a functional/specialist area.
• Be declared medically fit for the position and environment, as determined by a risk based medical examination at the relevant Occupational Health Centre.

Advantageous requirements:

• MBA/MBL would be advantageous.

Key responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain key stakeholder relationships
• Develop, maintain, and support outcomes of the Audit Committee Terms of Reference
• Maintain open and transparent communication with the Audit Committee and C Suite
• Be proactive and address the changing risk environment internally and externally through the internal audit plan
• Enhance the use of technology in the internal audit department
• Exercise effective strategic leadership on the Internal Audit disciplines by being able to operationalize the vision and mission of the organization into risk-based audit plans
• Provide the leadership, management, and vision necessary to ensure that the Internal Audit disciplines have the proper controls, administrative and reporting procedures, people, and systems in place to effectively meet the strategic objectives of the organization and to ensure financial strength
• Defines the IA mandate and IA Charter in line with the IIA Global Standards
• Defines and maintains Internal Audit methodologies that are aligned with the IIA Global Standards
• Strengthen the collaboration with other assurance providers
• Develop the departmental budget including labour
• Approve operational expenditure
• Develop and implement a strategy and action plans for the Internal Audit discipline in alignment with the IIA Global Standards
• Provides direction and on occasion will deliver quality forensic audits
• Plan strategically to improve overall business performance and align the Internal Audit strategy with the business strategy, goals, and objectives
• Participate in the development of ethics codes and procedures
• Ensure adherence with corporate governance, ethics guidelines and compliance with legal requirements

• Provide leadership and inspire team members towards high performance
