Job Description
Reporting to the Mechanical Engineering Manager, You will be responsible for conducting various engineering activities required on petrochemical and cryogenic projects to ensure the integrity and legal compliance of pressure equipment for clients.
- Work within a multidiscipline project environment.
- Carry out selected items of engineering and design work when required.
- Prepare project specific technical documentation (e.g. data sheets, technical specifications, etc.) needed for enquiries.
- Perform the following engineering for the procurement of mechanical equipment (conduct technical bid evaluations, document/design reviews, manufacturing meetings, end-of-job document review and site/construction assistance).
- Import conformity assessments of pressure equipment to PER/SANS347.
- Provide Engineering support to internal & external parties.
- Manage suppliers and subcontractors during project phases (e.g. AIA).
- Mechanical document control of own projects.
- Have reasonable knowledge of mechanical equipment (static and rotating)
- Apply department tools, templates, procedures, specifications and software.
Qualifications
- BEng/BSc Mechanical Engineering
- Registration as Candidate Engineer with ECSA is preferential
Skills
- At least 5 years’ experience in mechanical work within the Petrochemical and/or Cryogenic environment
- Exposure/experience to mechanical design software packages
- English and Afrikaans speaking
