Vegetable Seed Analyst

SUMMARY:

An international agrochemical company is seeking an energetic Seed Analyst with strong IT and laboratory skills to conduct tests on vegetable, flower and turf seeds.

POSITION INFO:


Minimum requirements for the role:

• Must have a Degree/Diploma in Botany or related field of study
• 2 years’ relevant experience in a laboratory will be required
• Must have completed the Seed Science and Seed Testing Courses
• Excellent general computer literacy, with above average Excel skills are essential
• Previous experience on Navision would be an added advantage

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Testing of vegetable, flower and turf seed.
• Performing tests on company produced and purchased seed as well as routine tests on stock seed.
• Conducting germination tests, physical tests, moisture content and seed count of all seed lots in terms of the ISTA (International Seed Testing Association) rules that the company complies with.
• Capturing results electronically.

Salary package is highly negotiable depending on experience gained
