Warehouse Management System (WMS) Team Leader Implementation and Support (Transport and Logistics)

Location: Johannesburg, Gauteng

Position Overview:

A global leading firm in international transport and logistics has an exciting new opportunity for an experienced Warehouse Management System (WMS) Team Leader Implementation and Support.

One will deploy Global Supply Chain offers for new and existing accounts within one’s parameter.

The chosen candidate will manage on the day-to-day basis the WMS implementation leaders and the WMS support specialists’ resources and ensure the production of expected deliverables and expected support level.

The WMS Team Leader Implementation and Support will work together with operations and regional IT to complete the different phases of a WMS implementation: design, training, configuration, testing, reports, and support. He/she will also work on Pre-Sales requirements as may be required by his/her manager and the business.

Role Specific Functions:

• Manage project plan with BTL tools (projects status, timesheets).
• Coordinate the activities of the implementation team leaders in line with the WMS roadmap.
• Continuously upskill the Implementation and support team on the WMS.
• Lead functional and interface design workshop.
• Prepare WMS Functional Flow.
• Prepare interface specification with mappings.
• Prepare specification for reports.
• Perform WMS configuration.
• Conduct key user training.
• Perform integration testing.
• Support user acceptance test.
• Prepare test scenarios.
• Perform data migration for existing customer migrating to the WMS.
• Provide onsite support for Go-live.
• Troubleshoot production issues.

Essential Experience, Qualifications and Skills Required

Minimum Requirements:

• A completed degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering or Computer Science.
• Minimum 3 years of Implementation/Support experience with Warehouse Management.
• Minimum level of database and SQL Statements.
• Experience in building reports with SQL queries.
• Experience in Manhattan WMOS.
• Strong computer skills and Data Analysis
• A strong background in Power BI and SQL experience.
• Must have a solid background in the Freight Forwarding industry.
