Warehouse Supervisor - 6 month Contract

SUMMARY:
An established agrochemical manufacturer is seeking the above to coordinate and maintain the warehouse area, stock movements and the integrity of seed by ensuring the correct storage and handling are implemented.

POSITION INFO:

Minimum requirements for the role:

• Must have completed Grade 12
• A minimum of 3 years’ experience, ideally in a multinational environment, is preferred
• The ability to converse in English and Afrikaans is essential
• Previous exposure to Sales Order Processing, Distribution & Inventory Control and Warehouse Management, preferably in a vegetable seed environment, will be required
• Must be able to demonstrate continuous personal development within the industry

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Executing sales order processing functions, including receiving order instructions, picking & packing of orders, preparing & shipping seeds and controlling all associated documentation.
• Receiving trial seeds and verifying quantities, executing trial seed requests and shipping in compliance with legislation, and ensuring all related documentation are complete.
• Controlling inventory by product reconciliations on receipt & dispatch and monthly stock counts and weekly stock checks.
• Accompanied by the DC Manager, liaising with service providers for local and regional shipments of orders as well as the Department of Agriculture for seed inspections.
• Ensuring general housekeeping, space management and equipment management.
• Assisting the DC Coordinator with the application of Quality Assurance standards.
• Performing seed sampling for QA purposes, drawing samples and sending to laboratory for testing.
• Ensuring compliance to company policies, safety and QMS procedures
• Liaising with the Customer Services department on customer complaints for corrective action and to get authorisation before accepting any returns.
• Reporting and recording any non-conformities.
• Reviewing relevant procedures.
• Performing filing duties, ensuring the completeness of documentation, picking slips, shipping documents and delivery notes.
• Liaising with other departments, including Customer Service, Sales, Marketing and Production.
