Warehouse Supervisor

Our client, based in Port Elizabeth, required the skills and experience of a dynamic warehouse supervisor for their large distribution warehouse.

This is an awesome career opportunity for a experienced warehouse supervisor.

Duties include but not limited to the following :

• Processing and receipt of incoming shipments (this will entail offloading 20ft and 40ft container – of which we have about three shipments a month)
• Applying RFID tags where necessary (this is a system we have implemented for stock control)
• Palletising and racking of the stock
• Incoming documentation (GRN, shipping lists and docs etc) control
• Processing of outgoing orders
• Picking, packing and marking of outgoing orders
• Dispatch documentation (waybills, invoices, packing lists)
• Liaising with couriers and customers, internal liaison with admin, finance, sales departments
• Stock control – regular stock takes needed, advising sales teams of stock levels, advising purchasing department when stock levels need replenishing, ensuring the stock is well controlled and not susceptible to loss or damage
• Receiving and processing returns, re-boxing, liaison with the workshop
• Control of samples and demo stock
• Ensuring quality and deadline objectives are met
• Ensuring compliance with health and safety in the warehouse
• Control of packing materials

Skills needed :

• Warehousing supervising experience required – ideally with appliances or similar/retailer SKU’s
• Tertiary qualification preferable
• Teamworking skills
• Managerial skills
• Computer, verbal and written skills
• Logistical skills – experience with import and export would be a bonus but not critical
• Logical and technical
• Knowledge of warehouse management systems including RFID
• Is able to drive forklifts etc
• Fit and healthy  (The nature of the business is that there will be some physical work to be done from time to time.)
• Monthly reporting needed
• Must be bilingual
