Warehouse and Distribution Manager

POSITION INFO:

Main purposes of the position:-

To ensure effective management and flow of stored inventory (Fibre & finished goods) while ensuring that the process of planning, organising and executing is efficient and effective from the place of origin to the place of consumption as per sales and planning schedules, in a way that optimally satisfies consumer requirements and reduce cost of sales.

Qualification and Experience

• Post Matric Diploma or Degree in Supply Chain or Operation Management 
• 5 years experience in managing warehouse and transport logistic teams.
• 5 Years experience in Paper Manufacturing environment will be an advantage
• 1 Year Experience working on JDE/ERP systems
• Certification in CPM or CSCP

Key Responsibilities

• Resource planning meet below budget targets
• Managing Transport costs meet below budget targets
• Managing Warehouse costs meet below budget targets
• Managing Factory vehicle costs meet below budget targets
• Ensure effective production planning and distribution planning to meet customer due dates
• Handle customer queries and complaints with speed, urgency and care
• Meet OTIF targets
• Quick Turn Around Time for handling queries and complaints
• Ensure the compilation, Compile and analysis and review of variance reports.
• Manage and control the adherence to Cycle counts and Financial Stock counts as per company audit guidelines
• Manage report and control aged stock to ensure accurate reporting and financial control of slow moving and obsolete stock
• Manage, review and control inventory levels with full responsibility to maintain accurate stock levels and minimize stock variances to less than .5% of inventory value
• Manage people to ensure low absenteeism rate
• Manage people to ensure low overtime cost
• Manage and control the Warehouse Management System and optimise flow of materials and ensure review where necessary.
