Water Treatment Senior Process Controller

SUMMARY:
Water Treatment Senior Process Controller required to control, operate and optimize Waste Water Treatment Works with main focus on the membrane bioreactor plants.

POSITION INFO:

Qualification

• Grade 12 with Mathematics and Science
• Minimum of a DWS Class V classified Process Controller.  Applications that don’t meet this minimum requirement will not be considered.

Requirements

• Will be required to work shifts - operations are 24/7
• Previous experience working on a membrane bioreactor plant or similar is a requirement.
• Previous experience in water / wastewater process control environment, integrated complex SCADA systems, trouble shooting and plant process optimization.
• Good interpersonal skills and ability to work as an integral part of a team
• Good literacy, numeracy skills and accurate & detailed record keeping required
• Proficient in MS Word, MS Excel and Outlook
• Supervisory skills (advantages)
• Results driven

Duties

• Operation of Waste Water Treatment Works by analyzing, operating and controlling all processes, with main focus the membrane bioreactor plants, to achieve required specifications and standards.
• Manage a shift or assist the Process Technician in managing a shift at the Wastewater Treatment Works
• Daily visual (plant & Scada) operational checks, adjustments with detailed recording.
• Plant operational performance reporting to Plant Manager, data recording & capturing.
• Sewage and effluent quality sampling and analysis for process control.
• Extensive and accurate record keeping & evaluation of results of the treatment process.
• Detailed tracking of day to day operational maintenance and repairs.
• Cost and stock control by limiting treatment cost, ensuring optimum energy usage, etc.
• Ensure housekeeping meets the required standard.
• Comply to the company’s ISO 9001, 14001 and 18001 OHSAS work procedures
• Ensure that discipline, access control, security, safety and quality assurance is adhered to and maintained in the workplace.
• Supervision of Process Controllers & Process Assistants working on the plant.
• Conduct visual inspections of membrane bioreactor plant to establish functionality levels of system & components and/or communicate and clarify instructions or requirements with immediate superior
