Welding Inspector (Technical, Level 1)

Cape Town

(Fixed Term Contract)

The Field Inspections Division is currently sourcing for the position of Welding Inspector (Technical, Level 1)

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

Ability to coordinate inspections
Draft proposals and work orders
Understanding of the Pressure equipment regulation
Review reports
Discuss and agree inspection scope of work
Coordinate, monitor and prepare procedures for approval
Complies with all health and safety and other statutory regulations
Work closely with the Project Manager and report any deviations regarding the project

SPECIFIC AUTHORITIES

Cease the use of any equipment that may be deemed to constitute a safety hazard or entry to hazardous environments without the necessary knowledge and protection and take action to address the hazard.
Cease to carry on with work that may affect the quality (integrity) of services and take action to address the issue.
Initiate a formal improvement request when a deviation of the system occurs, possible improvements are identified or when nonconformity is identified.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION

Grade 12 and/or related post-matric qualification
Two to four years of experience in the Quality Control Industry.
Prepare, update and follow up production documents
Familiarity with regulations, testing codes and standards preferred.
General technical capabilities for maintenance of equipment
General computer Literacy
Driver’s License and Own Transport
Preferrably based in Cape Town
