Workshop Foreman (Commercial Truck)

SUMMARY:
The role requires strong technical knowledge, leadership capability and the ability to manage workshop personnel, job flow and operational standards.

POSITION INFO:
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Manage workshop productivity, efficiency, workflow and staff performance. Lead and support workshop personnel, including mechanics and apprentices. Provide technical guidance and ensure technicians have access to current technical information. Ensure all repairs and servicing meet required quality standards, including final inspections and road tests. Monitor job cards, labour hours, parts, lubricants, consumables, warranty procedures and customer authorisations. Ensure workshop equipment, repair bays and facilities are maintained in a safe, clean and professional condition. Drive compliance with Health & Safety, SHE\/OHS, PPE and company procedures. Ensure effective training, skills transfer and development of workshop staff. Maintain strong working relationships with Parts, Service Advisors, customers and other departments. Attend to breakdowns when required and ensure professional customer service. Monitor housekeeping, discipline, timekeeping and adherence to operational standards. Attend staff meetings and identify\/report operational or safety concerns. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Matric or equivalent. Diesel Trade Test - essential. Minimum 5 years experience in a similar workshop\/foreman role. Code 14 drivers licence. Strong technical, planning and leadership skills. Proven ability to lead and develop a workshop team. Strong organisational skills and attention to detail. Confident, proactive and solutions-focused approach. Good English communication skills. Strong commitment to safety, quality and customer service.
