SUMMARY:
A leading furniture manufacturer is seeking an experienced Yard Foreman. This role focuses on timber yard and waste operations management. POSITION INFO:
The Yard Foreman will oversee all timber yard and waste handling operations on-site. This includes maintaining accurate stock records, ensuring adherence to waste and recycling procedures, and managing yard housekeeping. The ideal candidate will be hands-on, organised, and capable of running the yard with minimal supervision. ERP system experience is essential for real-time stock management and reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage waste from manufactured by-products in line with company procedures and budgets
- Oversee all recycling operations to ensure environmental compliance
- Take full ownership of the timber yard, including various timber material categories
- Ensure stock levels are accurate and updated in the ERP system in real time
- Oversee receiving of all timber materials and ensure correct data capture against purchase orders
- Manage material issuing aligned to job cards with accurate ERP updates
- Maintain a clean and organised yard environment, aligned with health and safety standards
- Monitor and report on stock variances or discrepancies
- Implement yard process improvements where required
- Liaise with internal teams for accurate forecasting and material planning
- Conduct regular physical stock counts and reconciliations
- Enforce safe loading, unloading, and stacking of materials
- Ensure all yard equipment is properly maintained and operated
- Supervise yard personnel, assigning duties and monitoring performance

Requirements- Matric (Grade 12)
- Prior experience in a timber or materials yard management role
- Computer literacy and ERP system proficiency
- Proven stock control and materials handling experience
- Knowledge of OHS and environmental compliance
Remuneration
R22 000 - R25 000
