Employer Description 4-Star Hotel in Cape Town Job Description Our client is seeking an Assistant Maintenance Manager to support the effective planning, execution, and oversight of maintenance operations within a large hospitality property. This role requires a skilled professional with strong technical knowledge, leadership ability, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of service and safety. Key Responsibilities: Annual planning : Assist the Maintenance Manager in developing and implementing annual maintenance plans. Scheduled maintenance : Manage all scheduled maintenance in line with regulations, ensuring prompt and courteous service to internal and external clients. Inspections : Conduct regular inspections to assess quality of work and identify areas for improvement. Stock control : Ensure stock levels are maintained and controlled effectively. Sustainable energy : Stay updated on new technologies and advise the Maintenance Manager on sustainable energy solutions. Health & safety : Ensure strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental policies and standards. Team leadership : Build a competent and motivated team through confident and supportive leadership. Teamwork : Work independently or collaboratively to deliver consistently high‑quality standards. Qualifications Matric (NTC 3) with a focus on construction disciplines such as electrical, plumbing or carpentry. Strong numeracy, verbal, and written English skills (NQF 4). At least five years' maintenance experience in a similar environment. Must reside in Cape Town or Surrounds Skills Solid knowledge of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and related systems. Strong planning and prioritization skills to manage multiple projects. Ability to identify issues and implement effective solutions quickly.
