Assistant Management Couple: Head Guide & Lodge Manager

Employer Description Game Lodge in KZN Job Description Our client is seeking an Assistant Lodge Management Couple to join their team in a dynamic hospitality environment. This exciting opportunity is ideally suited to a couple due to accommodation arrangements, with one partner taking on the role of Lodge Manager and the other as Head Guide. Key Responsibilities: Lodge Manager Oversee HR and administration with strong organizational skills. Manage reservations and Semper system operations. Coordinate client activities and ensure seamless guest experiences. Supervise staff duties, shifts, and time management. Host guests, manage bar duties, and ensure guest liaison excellence. Conduct housekeeping checks and collaborate with chefs on dietary requirements. Handle shopping trips, check-ins, check-outs, and billing. Perform stock takes . Coordinate activities with guides and oversee health, safety, and sustainability checks. Head Guide Lead game drives , boat safaris, beach safaris, and night drives. Conduct vehicle maintenance and ensure ranger procedures are followed. Provide interpretive guiding focused on birds, plants, and coastal ecology . Assist with hosting, bar duties, and lodge operations when required. Maintain motivation and professionalism while supporting lodge activities. Qualifications Lodge Manager Diploma or degree in Hospitality Management or a related field. Minimum 3-5 years' lodge or hospitality management experience in a 4-5 star environment. Proven ability to manage diverse teams and operations. Strong financial and administrative skills , including budgeting, payroll, and reporting. Head Guide Minimum FGASA Level 2 (Trails Guide preferred). PDP, FGASA, CATHSSETA, DEAT, First Aid, and Police Clearance Certificate required. Skipper's Licence advantageous (or willingness to obtain). Basic maintenance skills essential. Skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a guest‑focused approach. Resilient, organized, and able to maintain high standards under pressure. Strong administrative and HR skills . Proven lodge management and guest hosting experience. Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to adapt to lodge culture. Self-motivated, professional, and well-presented. Salary\/Package Lodge Manager: R20 000 - R30 000 DOE and Head Guide with Trails: R15 000 - R20 000 DOE Benefits Accommodation provided: 1-bedroom air-conditioned cottage OR if 2 singles (1 cottage & 1 bachelor unit with kitchenette & bathroom).
