AFS Accountant

SUMMARY:
Our client, a Proudly South African, Financial and Advisory firm, seeks your Annual Financial Statements experience to prepare the company's financial statements in line with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.

POSITION INFO:
Skills & Knowledge Required

• B.Com Degree, essential.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Proficiency in Excel and Accounting software.
• Knowledge of financial reporting frameworks (like IFRS).

• Draft Annual Financial Statements (AFS).
• Prepare statements, e.g.:
  • Statement of Financial position (Balance Sheet)
  • Income Statement (Profit & Loss)
  • Cash Flow Statement
  • Changes in Equity
• Make sure the AFS aligns with standards such as IFRS or local frameworks like GAAP.
• Working papers & supporting schedules
• Compile detailed reconciliations and backup schedules for:
  • Assets and liabilities
  • Revenue and expenses
• Liaise with Auditors, supporting external or internal audits by:
  • Providing requested documents
  • Explaining figures and adjustments
• Adjustments and journals:
  • Processing year-end journals (e.g., accruals, depreciation, provisions)
