AVP: Finance Specialist Group Reporting

SUMMARY:

POSITION INFO:
Our client, a leading African banking group with a strong legacy and regional presence, is looking to appoint an AVP: Finance Specialist Group Reporting within its Group Finance function.

This role forms part of the Reporting Management team, responsible for delivering high-quality management reporting, performance analysis, and strategic insights to senior leadership, including Exco, Board, and key committees.

You will play a key role in monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting cycles, coordinating across business units and supporting critical decision-making processes through accurate financial analysis and reporting outputs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the preparation of monthly flash reports, Exco reporting, and Board/GACC submissions
• Assist with the coordination and consolidation of financial reporting across business units and functions
• Prepare and maintain reporting systems for monthly and quarterly reporting cycles
• Provide financial analysis and performance insights to support senior management decision-making
• Contribute to half-year and year-end financial reporting deliverables, including results booklets
• Support planning processes, including Outlook, RAF, and medium-term planning (MTP) cycles
• Assist with the standardisation and enhancement of group reporting formats and processes
• Perform ad hoc analysis, reporting, and research for presentation to senior stakeholders
• Engage with business units as a Cluster Relationship Manager (CRM) to facilitate information flow
• Participate in change initiatives, including system enhancements and process improvements
• Collaborate across Group Finance and build strong stakeholder relationships

• B-degree in Accounting / Financial Management (minimum requirement)
• CA(SA) or CIMA qualification (preferred)
• Banking or financial services experience (advantageous)
• Strong financial reporting and analytical skills
• Advanced Excel and PowerPoint proficiency
• Solid understanding of financial accounting principles
• High attention to detail and ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Strong interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills
