AVP: Finance Specialist Group Reporting

POSITION INFO:
Our client, a leading African banking group with a strong legacy and regional presence , is looking to appoint an AVP: Finance Specialist Group Reporting within its Group Finance function. This role forms part of the Reporting Management team , responsible for delivering high-quality management reporting, performance analysis, and strategic insights to senior leadership, including Exco, Board, and key committees. You will play a key role in monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting cycles , coordinating across business units and supporting critical decision-making processes through accurate financial analysis and reporting outputs. Key Responsibilities: Support the preparation of monthly flash reports, Exco reporting, and Board\/GACC submissions Assist with the coordination and consolidation of financial reporting across business units and functions Prepare and maintain reporting systems for monthly and quarterly reporting cycles Provide financial analysis and performance insights to support senior management decision-making Contribute to half-year and year-end financial reporting deliverables , including results booklets Support planning processes , including Outlook, RAF, and medium-term planning (MTP) cycles Assist with the standardisation and enhancement of group reporting formats and processes Perform ad hoc analysis, reporting, and research for presentation to senior stakeholders Engage with business units as a Cluster Relationship Manager (CRM) to facilitate information flow Participate in change initiatives , including system enhancements and process improvements Collaborate across Group Finance and build strong stakeholder relationships Job Experience and Skills Required: B-degree in Accounting \/ Financial Management (minimum requirement) CA(SA) or CIMA qualification (preferred) Banking or financial services experience (advantageous) Strong financial reporting and analytical skills Advanced Excel and PowerPoint proficiency Solid understanding of financial accounting principles High attention to detail and ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines Strong interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills Advantageous: Knowledge of financial markets and economics Competency Requirements: Deciding and initiating action Analytical thinking and problem-solving Relating and networking Adapting and responding to change Persuading and influencing Entrepreneurial and commercial thinking Creating and innovating Apply now!
