POSITION INFO:

Role output: To ensure compliance with SA higher education policy and legislative and regulatory framework in respect of the following:

1. Programme and site accreditation,
2. SAQA registration of programmes,
3. DHET registration of programmes and sites of delivery.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ensure that the design of new academic programmes comply with the requirements of the NQF, the HEQSF, SAQA and other legislative requirements.
• Ensure that the design of new academic programmes meet the QA standards of the Business School.
• Manage the internal approvals of new and revised academic programmes.
• Manage the HEQC programme and site accreditation process.
• Ensure that academic programmes are registered on the NQF by SAQA.
• Ensure that all academic programmes and sites of delivery are registered by the DHET.
• Develop and maintain appropriate teaching and learning policies and procedures
• Take a leading role in planning and managing internal and external programme and/or institutional audits.
• Facilitate QA workshops for faculty and staff.
• Liaise with academic units to ensure correctness and completeness of enrolment data in CRM.

Experience, Qualifications and

NON-NEGOTIABLES:

• Appropriate Master’s Degree or equivalent post graduate qualification
• At least 5 years’ experience in Quality Assurance at a Business School or University at middle or senior management level.

Skills and Knowledge

• Understanding of the SA Higher Education and Training landscape.
• Intimate knowledge of SA Higher Education legislation and associated regulations.
• Intimate knowledge of ICT and database management.
• Strong organizational and planning skills.
• Strong general administrative and management background.

• Ability to diagnose root causes of problems
• Escalates problems that have a greater impact than own area of specialisation
• Uses data to diagnose and establish trends
• Conducts analysis and interpretation of information that impacts the business.
• Monitors data gathering to ensure consistency and accuracy.
