Account Manager - Technical Sales - Zambia
POSITION INFO:
Position Purpose:
This position within our client will be responsible for developing and implementing a plan to increase the sales of mill liners to end users in Africa and to provide technical service and support to existing customers. In addition to increasing mill liner sales to the hard rock mining industry, this position is also challenged with identifying opportunities and generating inquiries for our grinding media and crusher part product lines.
Nature and Scope:
This position will be based near a major airport hub as there will be a requirement for travel approximately 50% of the time. Willingness to travel, tenacity, initiative and self confidence are all attributes that are required to achieve results in this position. The ability to train others and excellent communication skills are critical. The ability to develop and carry out a plan that applies both technical and commercial expertise and takes into account all applicable operational considerations goes a long way toward superior job performance. The incumbent will create positive relationships with our current customers, and build strong relationships with staff at our production facilities and our offices to most effectively achieve results.
With respect to technical sales and service, this position is assigned specifically to Africa, but may work with specific customers outside of that assigned area if a need arises. The incumbent is expected to maintain positive relationships with the customer base which includes engineers, purchasing agents, and facility managers. While using the resources of the corporate design group, the incumbent is expected to create new designs and modify existing designs to best serve the customer.

Principal Accountabilities:
♦ Interface with existing customers to maintain and improve the volume and profitability of the company.
♦ Assist in the prospecting for new accounts that align with company growth, marketing strategy and marketing capabilities.
♦ Identify and respond to customer concerns regarding product quality, delivery schedules and other issues.
♦ Interact with foundry staff to insure quality, timely delivery schedules and ever improving knowledge of the customer and product requirements.
♦ Develop quotes, proposals and respond to customer inquiries related to company products, designs and company operations.
♦ Interact with staff service groups such as design to assure timely response to customer needs.
♦ Support the company presence at various trade and technical shows and seminars.
Position Requirements:
• A metallurgical, or mechanical engineering or technical degree or equivalent in training and experience.
• Minimum of 10 years of technical sales experience, or equivalent experience working in processing plants with large SAG and Ball Mill applications, including hands-on expertise in mill liner wear and performance optimization.
• An aptitude for performing sales activities in an ethical and professional manner.
• Knowledge of the mineral processing products, technical capabilities and sales processes.
• Well developed communication skills, both written and oral.
• Lives in Zambia in the Solwezi, Kitwe or Chingola region (Copperbelt Zambia).
