SUMMARY:
An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced and detail-oriented Accountant to join a well-established and growing business based in Durban. This role is ideal for a driven professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and is looking to add value within a strong finance function.

POSITION INFO:
Our client is a respected international organisation with a strong footprint in the logistics and shipping solutions industry. They are seeking an Accountant who will play a key role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, supporting operational teams, and maintaining compliance with accounting standards and statutory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Managing the full accounting function, including general ledger, reconciliations, and journals
Preparing and reviewing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
Assisting with budgets, forecasts, and cash flow management
Monitoring cost controls and providing variance analysis with actionable insights
Ensuring compliance with IFRS, tax, VAT, and other statutory requirements
Supporting external audits and liaising with auditors
Driving efficiencies through process improvements and system enhancements

Job Experience & Skills Required:

BCom Degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent
Minimum of 3–5 years’ accounting experience within a or logistics environment
Sound knowledge of IFRS and general accounting principles
Proficiency in accounting systems and advanced MS Excel skills
Strong analytical, organisational, and problem-solving abilities
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to partner across departments
Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines
