SUMMARY:
A leading financial services group is seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Accountant to join their dynamic finance team. The successful candidate will play a key role in financial reporting, IFRS implementation, and supporting actuarial and insurance accounting processes within a highly regulated environment.

POSITION INFO:
This opportunity is ideal for an individual with strong technical expertise in IFRS standards, advanced Excel skills, and a proven ability to manage complex financial data and reporting requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and review financial reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with IFRS and company policies.
Support IFRS 17 and related insurance accounting implementations and operational processes.
Collaborate with actuarial and finance teams to align data models and valuation methodologies.
Maintain and configure accounting systems and general ledgers (e.g., Sage Evolution).
Develop and maintain advanced financial models and spreadsheets for reporting and analysis.
Ensure strong internal controls, audit readiness, and compliance with corporate governance principles.
Present financial insights and communicate complex technical information to non-financial stakeholders.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Actuarial Science.
Professional accounting qualification or membership with a recognised accounting body (strongly preferred).
Postgraduate diploma or certification in IFRS or insurance accounting (advantageous).
3–5 years’ experience in financial reporting or accounting.
At least 1–2 years’ experience in an IFRS implementation or insurance environment.
In-depth understanding of IFRS measurement models (GMM, PAA, VFA).
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and strong financial modelling ability.
Experience working with accounting systems and general ledger configuration.
Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
Ability to manage tight deadlines while maintaining accuracy and professional conduct.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transport.
