POSITION INFO:
Our client is a proudly African-owned and internationally active company specialising in logistics management across multiple countries in Africa.

They place a strong emphasis on integrity, client-service and operational excellence. You will join their finance team and play a key role in ensuring accurate financial records, timely reporting, and compliance frameworks that support the business’s continental operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain the general ledger: Posting journals, reconciling accounts, and ensuring that month-end close schedules are met.
• Prepare interim and annual financial statements (income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow) in accordance with group standards.
• Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes; track actual performance vs budget.
• Support the audit process by preparing schedules, liaising with External Auditors and providing required documentation.
• Monitor and report on fixed assets, depreciation and impairment where applicable.
• Assist with VAT/GST/other tax returns, regulatory reporting and compliance reporting in South Africa and across regional operations.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders (operations, logistics, and regional offices) to ensure accurate cost accounting, project/capital cost allocation and internal controls.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement in the finance systems, documentation and workflow, and help implement best practices.

• Diploma in Accounting, or Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) in Accounting/Finance (essential).
• Ideally 2-5 years practical accounting experience in a medium to large organisation (strong junior profiles will be considered).
• Proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and analysis) is essential.
• Sound knowledge of South African accounting standards, VAT/tax compliance, and exposure to multi-jurisdictional operations advantageous.
• Excellent attention to detail, highly organised, and able to meet deadlines in a high-volume environment.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; confident liaising across departments and with external stakeholders.
