SUMMARY:

POSITION INFO:
This role supports the financial operations of a well-established agricultural business with on-the-ground operations in Limpopo and reporting lines into a regional head office. The Accountant will play a key role in managing financial reporting, ensuring compliance, and providing accurate, timely insights to support operational and strategic objectives.

The position offers hands-on exposure to operational finance, budgeting, forecasting, and multi-entity reporting within a stable organisation that is part of a broader regional group. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong Accountant looking to grow within an expanding business.

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Compile management accounts and reporting packs with variance analysis
• Maintain the general ledger, journals, accruals, and month-end/year-end close
• Manage accounts payable, receivable, and inter-company reconciliations
• Prepare and submit VAT returns and ensure statutory compliance
• Perform bank reconciliations and assist with cash flow reporting
• Maintain fixed asset registers, depreciation, and inventory accounting
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning
• Provide financial insights to support operational and management teams

• Education:
  • BCom Accounting degree or Accounting Diploma (minimum requirement)
• Experience:
  • 3–5 years’ experience in an accounting or financial reporting role
  • Proven experience with management accounts and month-end close
  • Exposure to operational environments, such as agriculture or manufacturing, is advantageous
  • Experience working with remote or head office reporting structures
• Skills:
  • Advanced Excel
  • Experience with accounting systems (SAGE 200 / SAGE Evolution advantageous)
• Other Non-Negotiables:
  • Based in South Africa
  • Ability to work on-site in Limpopo or remotely, with occasional travel
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
