A reputable and well-established organisation is looking to appoint a driven and detail-oriented Accountant to lead its Head Office finance team.
This opportunity is ideal for a confident leader who excels in a fast-paced, high-volume environment and is committed to financial accuracy, strong internal controls, and meeting strict reporting deadlines. The successful candidate will demonstrate accountability, resilience under pressure, and the ability to motivate and guide a finance team to achieve optimal performance.

Key Responsibilities:

Authorise daily payments on banking platforms and approve new beneficiaries
Monitor, update, and distribute daily bank balances
Review debtors and creditors reconciliations on a fortnightly and month-end basis
Ensure all team deadlines and deliverables are consistently met
Review monthly reconciliations and follow up on outstanding items
Investigate, escalate, and resolve reconciliation discrepancies
Ensure cashbooks are balanced prior to rollovers and period closures
Prepare and authorise journal entries
Support both internal and external audit processes
Perform General Ledger and cashbook reconciliations
Download and distribute monthly General Ledgers and Income Statements
Review and process monthly commission reports
Provide ongoing guidance, mentorship, and support to team members
Oversee general Head Office administrative functions

Job Experience and Skills Required:
BCom Degree in Accounting
3 - 4 years’ experience in an accounting environment
Proven experience supervising or managing a finance team
Strong reconciliation experience (GL, Debtors, Creditors, Cashbook)
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
