SUMMARY:

This role is ideal for a detail-oriented and driven finance professional who is ready to take full accountability for the accounting function within a fast-paced, high-achieving environment.

As the Accountant, you will play a key role in managing daily financial operations, safeguarding the accuracy of financial data, ensuring regulatory compliance, and providing meaningful financial insights to senior stakeholders.

POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities:

Take ownership of the full accounting cycle, including General Ledger processing, cashbook management, and ensuring all financial transactions are recorded accurately and timeously.
Perform monthly reconciliations, including Balance Sheet accounts, and maintain the integrity of financial records as well as the Fixed Asset Register.
Manage VAT processes end-to-end, including preparation, reconciliation, submission, and ensuring compliance with statutory requirements.
Prepare cash flow forecasts, analyse financial data and expenses, and identify variances, trends, and areas for improvement.
Compile and review management reports, delivering actionable insights, while supporting the Finance Director (FD) and Finance Manager (FM) with ad hoc reporting and financial tasks.

Qualifications & Experience

BCom in Accounting is essential.
5–8 years’ experience in a comparable accounting position.
Demonstrated experience overseeing the full accounting function.
Experience working with accounting systems such as Pastel and BPO.
Advanced proficiency in MS Excel.
Exposure to commission calculations is advantageous.
Exceptional attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively within a team.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
High level of integrity and ability to handle confidential information.
Capable of working under pressure and meeting strict deadlines.
Flexibility to work additional hours during peak periods, including month-end.
