Accountant

SUMMARY:
A well-established business within the digital payments space is looking to appoint an Accountant to support its expanding finance function.

POSITION INFO:
This role suits a hands-on individual who takes ownership of their work, has a strong grasp of financial principles, and can operate effectively in a dynamic, high-growth environment. You will work closely with both the finance team and senior stakeholders to ensure smooth and compliant financial operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and maintain the general ledger across multiple entities within the group
• Assist with producing monthly management reports and supporting schedules
• Perform detailed balance sheet reconciliations and resolve variances
• Strengthen and uphold internal controls and financial procedures
• Provide support during audit cycles, including preparation of required documentation
• Process and oversee regular payments to suppliers and partners
• Assist with regulatory and statutory reporting obligations
• Manage and reconcile inter-company transactions and balances
• Contribute to Board-level reporting and financial insights
• Support the team with ad hoc analysis and finance-related queries

• Postgraduate qualification in Finance or a related field
• Completed SAICA/SAIPA articles or approximately 3 years of relevant experience
• Exposure to listed environments or a solid understanding of reporting standards (including IFRS) is advantageous
• Experience working on Xero is beneficial
• Background within financial services or a payments environment is advantageous
• Strong communication skills in English; additional languages are a plus
• Own reliable transport
